Dissolved air flotation (DAF) is well-suited for liquid-solid separation in many industries, as well as for separation of free oils and greases. Applications include the pretreatment of a variety of waste streams, including those from: Meat and poultry processing plants Bakeries Confectionery plants  Laundry facilities Dairy processors Metal fabricators Pulp and paper mills Chemical plants Textile plants Railroad yards Vegetable oil processors Rendering plants Snack food processors Fruit and vegetable processors and canneries Pet food processors Biological treatment facilities (clarification, WAS thickening, algae removal)
In addition, ETS DAF systems can in many cases provide for the re-use of treated effluent in many ways, such as cooling water, polymer makeup water, and wash water.
